Deadfellas: Fight or Flight
You survived the zombie apocalypse. You ended up in a small town called Hawkins. You find the town infected with zombies and the only way out is to escape by helicopter.
You have 5 minutes to reach one of 3 extraction zones on the roof of:
1: Hawkins Laboratory
2: Starcourt Mall
3: Hawkins Hospital
You need to get a key to reach the extraction zones. Locate the key and the correct extraction zone by using your radar.
Be careful with the Deadfellas, they'll try to eat you, so use your weapons to smack them around, or throw whatever is in your hands at them.
Rescue as many people as possible along the way and be the Champion of Hawkins.

What makes Deadfellas Fight or Flight unique?

But even more important:
NPC Flocking
Iorek Byrnison created a technique for NPC's (birds, fish, flying saucers or whatever you want to) to flock naturally which gives the appearance of a flock of birds - or a crowd / army. This is based on the concept of ‘boids’ by Craig Reynolds. They can be attracted to objects such as a player, a designated food, another NPC and equally can be repelled. This NPC behaviour is used to create Deadfellas (zombie-like beings) that like to move in crowds to whatever they are focussed on, in this case the player that is closest to a Deadfella. Deadfellas follow you around and keep following you until another tasty player comes close to it. (They are however, pretty dumb - no brains you see!)
They crawl out of the ground and have a taste for your flesh. Hit them to score points.
Current state
Deadfellas in it's current state is playable and has a gameloop. You score as much points as possible and try to escape.
Currently working fine on Epic and Facebook, but Stadia seems to Crash when we play, so please use Facebook or Epic instead.
We still have a lot of development to do after the deadline:
- Fine tune everything
- Make the npc's you have to rescue more ‘real’
- Fix the graves after gameround
- Increase the performance
- Add more interiors for the buildings
- Create a unique UI
- Create a unique Scoreboard
- Create a system that rewards returning players
